Xin Nian Kuai Le

Or, Happy New Year in Mandarin Chinese.

We celebrated Chinese New Year this past weekend, with other adoptive families in Toronto.  We had travelled to China together, and I hadn't seen most of these kids since then.  Wonderful to see how they've grown and thrived!  Check them out.

Little Evie is on the right side, in a little outfit we had made in Nanchang.  I remember at the time that outfit seemed so big!  She doesn't like Mandarin collars, so was a little fussy with it at first, but I unbuttoned it and she persevered.

She was a little quiet at first, but warmed up and of course enjoyed playing with the toys of our host family, as well as with her brothers.

Sean was especially thrilled with the radiant floor heating system, and checked out the boiler/manifold/pipes, which will probably make their way into his future drawings.

I enjoyed chatting with the other parents and catching up on a year and a half worth of parenting tales.

A very nice celebration.
