The Picture of Autism

This is Sean, at 4 years old, on holiday in Honduras in 2005.  I call this a good picture to represent what Autism can be, because it shows Sean completely engrossed in the padlock on the door, instead of noticing the beautiful, colourful Macaw beside! He was absorbed in that lock for quite awhile.  Happy too.  His speech therapist used to give him a box of locks to play with as a reward for completing a productive session.  We haven't had to do that in awhile, but he still enjoys his locks....
