Cabane a Sucre

We had a little trip into la belle province yesterday, to visit a "cabane a sucre" or maple sugar shanty.  This one specialized in the "tire glace" (scuse my French if I haven't got it quite right...it's been awhile) or maple taffy on snow.  They pour very hot syrup on snow that they have specially kept for the occasion (since most of our snow is gone now) and once cool enough, we could roll it up onto a popsicle stick.

Our little Evie was very happy to try this!

Sean liked it too; but the propane and oil tanks behind the cabane held much more fascination for him!

But he joined us for the meal, although he couldn't partake of some items.  (Pancakes).  The place started getting busier and busier and I think the noise level was getting to him, as he started getting agitated over the pie.  Ideally he doesn't have sugar in his diet, but I allow him some occasional treats, (plus what he sneaks of his brother's stuff, at home), but this was not going well, so we forfeited dessert and got back outside.

And Evie could run with her little pals, all friends made on our adoption journey.
