Family Vacay

We had a few days away this March break, for a family vacation.  It's never easy to plan something that everyone will enjoy, with the variety of ages we have now (14,10 and 2), but we did OK again this March break by heading back to Lake Placid, and including a night in Syracuse NY on the way.  The Teenager got his shopping fix at the Waterloo Outlet stores (Mommy did OK too) and also some skiing in with Dad at Whiteface Mountain.  (I think that is the white topped one in the pic below...)

Of course it is beautiful there....this is the view from our hotel, although we didn't take a lakeside suite this time.

There was still quite a lot of snow there, and in the sunshine, it was beautiful and pristine.  The lake where we were standing was a little soft though, not a place to stand for a long time, as our tracks were filling with water.

Picturesque downtown.

New friends to make!

And of course shopping!  This was taken by Evie, who found Mummy's camera while Mummy was otherwise occupied in looking at jackets...that's Sean who is patiently waiting on the bench.  The other excitement at this particular store involved the owner's large, friendly dog, who kept removing "sale" signs and carrying them around, and Evie, who kept chasing him, yelling "Doggie!  Doggie!" at the top of her lungs.

Some family time back at the hotel.....

...which can quickly degenerate into the "let's annoy a sibling" time.

And this year, Lola came along too!  (Usually she sits BESIDE Evie on the seat, but neither of them are minding this arrangement :)....we weren't in a moving car at that moment, no worries about Lola being thrown on a sharp curve...of which there are many in the Adirondacks).

Sean up on Whiteface last year...what a view!

Next year, we are hoping to have both the younger two out skiing on the hill as well, and then I'll take my camera up there and get some pictures of Bob too!

In the meantime, this is one from last year...look how Evie has grown!
