Hail to the Queen

Queen Victoria that is.  And to those who deem that we should celebrate her birthday with a long weekend.  I packed up Sean and Evie and got on the road for a little journey to see friends.  The weather was fabulous, and we even managed holiday traffic rather well.  OK, the toll 407 helped, and I have yet to see what it will cost me, but such a time saver!

Our first night was spent out in the country, Evie and Sean enjoying various aspects of rural life. The chicken house below, is a marvel, beautiful to look at, and for Sean, had the added bonus of an automated door!

Our friends have a beautiful property.  The chickens were eventually let out to wander, much to Evie's enjoyment!  She was very good about petting them, but it was difficult for me to get a picture of her actually doing it.

Then, we gave up being a farm girl and went on to the big city again, and more fun with a new puppy!

And more fun with another little girl.  These two are like peas in a pod; they do have a fair bit in common, from their close birthdays and early beginnings at the SWI of Poyang, to both having older siblings now.  And they love to emulate each other.  This was very nice for potty training, as one had to go if the other did, not consistently, but enough to just increase frequency.  Evie stayed pretty dry for the duration of our visit there, even in her pull-ups.

Here, one is doing a somersault, with the other attempting to imitate!

We are hoping that the two girls continue to be friends as they grow up.  It will be so good for them.  This summer we will see more friends who were adopted at the same time in China; we have quite a good sized group and hopefully most of them can make it.  And hopefully it can be an annual event.

Friends are priceless!  Thanks to all who hosted us for meals and overnights.  I love road trips.
