He had always been resistant to learning, because it was a "new thing" and he probably wasn't sure how it would fit into his world. But I decided that this year he was going to learn, and we were going to have to put the time in to achieve this goal.
Turns out there was very little time necessary to get the deed done! Bob spent probably 10 minutes with him, holding the back of the seat for reassurance, before Sean was off on his own! He was so proud of himself! This is fairly rare to see, and so wonderful.
I think he was secretly wanting to try, but won't ever ask for anything he wants, and wouldn't just do it on his own, so when I suggested it (and I didn't really give him the option to say "no", just told him that Bike Lessons would begin at 11:00...he likes rules and schedules), he was ready to go for it.
And Evie joined Sean on her bike, too. (Which used to be his...)
